10 on 10 - December

Well, it seems like I finished my year of film 10 on 10! I can't believe it - it's gone by so fast... I also can't believe I managed to pull off a whole year of film photography every month. I'm proud of myself and I feel like I am learning more photography than ever now.
As a farewell to this project and as a celebration to beginning a new one (52 Rolls: head on over to here if you'd like to follow it), I'm posting ten images of our trip to New York City for the NYC marathon.
Thanks for all the love and support this year!

This year, I am joining some of my very talented photographer friends in a project called 10 on 10. We will all take 10 photos on one day and try to tell a story through them by posting them on the 10th of each month. We will be linking to each others' sites to create a blogroll. This project will force me to find beauty where or when I can't see it, and will release my time constraints when photographing the beauty that I do see. Here is a link to my friend Staci's 10 on 10. 10 on 10 - November

A few weeks ago my oldest son had an early soccer game in Aptos, California. I drove him to the game and, like I did a few months ago in the same situation, I dropped him off for his warm ups and headed for the beach for some shooting. The weather was foggy and mirky but it was still nice to be at the beach and relax, camera in hand. Here are some of my film photos of that day.

10 on 10 - October

It's still very hot in California, despite it being October! That's why we've been really making use of last our pool and backyard/patio days before the "cold" weather starts making an appearance. Here are some of my last summer film shots:

10 on 10 - September

Summer went by so fast and it seems ages since we got back from the Canary Islands. With school and all my children's activities starting so soon after we returned to our home and life in California, I never had a chance to post all of the photos I took on film while I was there. Here are ten that form part of a 35mm roll I took one day on a photowalk with my oldest son in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

10 on 10 - August

During our summer vacation in the Canary Islands, my husband and I managed to "elope" to Rome for four days. Although I had been to Rome when I was a little girl, I remembered nothing except losing my Barbie doll at the airport, so for me it was all new. I saw so many breathtaking places it was extremely hard to breathe it all in, let alone try to capture all the beauty I saw with my camera. However, this is my small attempt at trying to remember what caught my eye in Rome. Here are ten of my favorite film images I took one day:

10 on 10 - July

I'm finally home! Just like every year for nine now, I have waited ten long months to return to my beloved Canary Islands, in Spain. Ten long months to breathe in my island air and to swim in my Atlantic Ocean. A whole ten months to see my loved ones and tell them in person how much I miss them, how much I would love to live closer to them, how how happy I am to hug them... I've waited ten whole months but I am finally home. Here is a collection of my first (film) images from my first week there.
